In Brazil, the Night of San Juan (São João) is celebrated between June 23 and 24 and is the culmination of the Festas Juninas, the second largest celebration in the country after Carnival.

These celebrations, which honor Saint John, Saint Anthony and Saint Peter, transform the country into a riot of colors, songs and traditional dances, with a particular emphasis in the region of Northeast.

The Square: The traditional costume dance that tells the story of a peasant wedding.

The Bonfires (Fogueiras): Lit up in all the squares and courtyards, they are the heart of the night to warm the atmosphere and celebrate the eve.

Corn-based gastronomy: The month of June is harvest time, so we eat sweets and typical dishes such as pamonha (corn cake), canjica and cooked corn.
