Our Voice And Never They present 22 candidates each in the Curitiba constituency. In São Paulo, Roots and Future It has fielded 21 names, including current president Alberto Salvatore Mayer. Meanwhile, the collection of signatures in support continues: the deadline for submitting lists is October 3rd.
The race for the elections of the Comites 2026 is enriched with new protagonists. On Wednesday, September 23, the first day of the official submission period, three more parties announced their candidates: Our Voice And Maib – Movement of Italian Associations in Brazil, both in the consular district of Curitiba, and Roots and Future, in San Paolo.
The three new lists include a total of 65 candidates: 22 for each of the two lists in Curitiba and 21 for the one in São Paulo. Adding the 82 candidates from the four lists already presented in the previous days, the total number of names published by Together salt to 147.
The publication of the lists, however, does not mean their definitive admission to the elections. The documentation submission phase began on September 23 and will conclude on October 3rd. Subsequently, the competent consular authorities will have to verify the accuracy of the documentation, applications, and supporting signatures.
In the previous update the lists were made known We are all Italians, in the Brasilia constituency, with 16 candidates; Living Community And Past, Present and Future, in Rio Grande do Sul, both with 22 names; and DiB – Democrats in Brazil, in Sao Paulo, with 22 other candidates.
With the new lists, the survey now also extends to the district of Curitiba, while at Saint Paul a second competing list emerges.
CURITIBA: OUR VOICE PRESENTS 22 CANDIDATES
Among the new formations is Our Voice, independent civic list which presents 22 candidates and indicates Jonas Oscar Lenzi at the top of the list.
The list includes people born in various municipalities in Paraná and Santa Catarina, as well as candidates born in Italy.
In a press release issued in Italian, Portuguese and Italian, Our Voice It presents itself as an independent, voluntary organization not funded by political parties. The document emphasizes the role of the COMITES as representative bodies of Italians abroad in their relations with consular institutions.
The press release also draws voters’ attention to the need to request registration on the electoral roll in order to participate in postal voting.
The list also expresses a critical stance toward formations linked to political parties, arguing that such connections could lead to party interests being favored. This is an assessment made by the list itself and not a judgment attributed to the other competing formations.
A distinctive element of the presentation is the use of the Italian, alongside Italian and Portuguese, in an initiative also aimed at communities in southern Brazil that preserve linguistic traditions linked to Italian emigration.
The list transmitted to Together includes the surname, name, place and date of birth of the 22 candidates.
MAIB: PETRUZZIELLO IN FIRST PLACE, BONETTI IN SECOND
The second list presented in the Curitiba constituency is that of Maib – Movement of Italian Associations in Brazil. In first place is the figure Walter Antonio Petruzziello, followed by the current president of the Comites of Curitiba, Eduardo Bonetti.
Petruzziello is a member of the Presidency Committee of the CGIE – General Council of Italians Abroad. The list submission form also includes Luis Molossi as a presenter, but without appearing among the 22 candidates.
The list includes members of the current Comites leadership and other representatives of the Italian community in Paraná and Santa Catarina. The names include, among others, Maria Aparecida Borghetti, Paulo Cezar Pereira, also indicated in the document as Boscardin, and Philip Ribeiro Marcon.
The list’s submission coincides with an intense phase of gathering the signatures needed to file a candidacy. In messages distributed Wednesday to community representatives, Petruzziello urged supporters to come to the Palácio Garibaldi in Curitiba Thursday, September 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., to sign the list.
According to the group, the goal is to achieve the 250 signatures of support necessary for the formal presentation.
The competition for the renewal of the Comites thus enters a new phase: with seven lists announced in total for the various constituencies considered and new candidates still expected before the October 3rd deadline.
